Cambridge Physiotherapy & Acupuncture Clinic has been providing physiotherapy and acupuncture services to the Cambridge community and greater Waikato area since 1985.

We place an emphasis on diagnosis and assessment, and as a result we are then able to provide a full rehabilitation service based on our diagnosis.

Our diagnonsis based treatment plans include a large range of treatments such as excercise prescription, gym programmes, manipulative therapy, massage, acupuncture, cupping, electrotherapy modalities including RPW shockwave therapy and FMS screening for functional and structural imbalances.

Where necessary we can refer for x-ray, ultrasound guided cortisone injection or a range of other specialists.

We are committed to providing you with a high standard of expertise and service on a personal level.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy restores normal function and patterns of movement and is extremely effective for all musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. We provide diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for injuries covered by ACC and insurance companies such as:

Functional Movement Systems

We are certified for FMS of athletes and sports teams to ascertain functional weakness and imbalances and implement corrective exercises. It gives a ranking score to individuals and depending on this score, corrective exercises can be developed to correct imbalances and patterns of movement.

FMS was initially set up for high school athletes but has proven to be effective across a broad range of sport disciplines and also for injuries and imbalances in people of all ages and occupations. It is primarily a tool for injury prevention.

  • ACC Initial assessment and consultation with multiple pathologies - $115.00
  • Follow-up treatments - $10.00 per visit
  • Super-Gold Card holders initial assessment & consultation - $80.00
  • Follow-up treatments - No Surcharge

Non ACC Fees/Private Patient Fees

As from 17th May 2021

Who Are We


Cambridge Physiotherapy Services Ltd has been established since 1985. We operate out of the ground floor of the former historical legal chambers. We have been committed to providing the Cambridge community and greater Waikato with nothing but the best service.

Our Director.

Director Chris La Pine-Dip Phys (Auck), PG Dip Sports Med (Otago), Cert Fit Mngt (Otago), Cert Acu (Beijing), FMS Cert (USA)

Chris is a qualified Physiotherapist from AUT and is the Director of the Cambridge Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic. He has worked with a wide variety of sports codes providing diagnosis, treatment and injury prevention programs to teams and individual athletes.

He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine from Otago University, Certificate in Fitness Management from Otago University and a Certificate in Acupuncture and Moxibustion from the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Chris is FMS Certified (Level 2) and offers FMS assessment and corrective exercises. He is also a member of Physiotherapy New Zealand and an executive member of the Physiotherapy Trust New Zealand.

Our Approach.

We have been in practice in Cambridge for 35 years and we see physiotherapy as a service to our community.

Where required we will refer patients for x-ray, ultrasound or guided cortisone injection under ultrasound. If we feel necessary we can refer the patient onto specialists in the relevant area to discuss if more invasive treatment is required, re: future surgical management.

Chris is a member of Physiotherapy NZ, Sports Physiotherapy NZ, Sports Medicine NZ, and is FMS Certified. He is a trustee of the Physiotherapy Trust of NZ, executive on the advisory committee of Physiotherapy NZ and is on the committee of the Private Practitioners Advisory Group of Physiotherapy NZ.
